How to Leave Comments on Friends' Profiles on Xanga

Interacting with other community members on Xanga is easy and fun. You can leave comments about your friends' blogs, their profiles or any other information they post to their Xanga account.

Things You’ll Need:

• Computer with Internet connection
• Valid Xanga account username and password

Find Your Friends on Xanga

1. Log on to the Xanga homepage to sign in to your Xanga account (see Resources below). You'll need to enter your username and password before you can leave any comments on other members' profiles and sites.
2. Look for your friends by searching the Xanga community. You can search for their profile using their first name, username or email address by selecting the 'Profiles' tab from the Xanga homepage.
3. Search for your friends' blog by selecting the 'Weblogs' tab and entering the name of their blog in the 'Search' field. Hit the 'Search' button to perform the query.

Post Comments and eProps

4. Visit any friend's blog by clicking on the link to their Web site on Xanga. There you will find their most recent blog entries, their uploaded photos, videos and audio, as well as comments left by other Xangans. You can also click on the 'Profile' link to leave comments on their profiles.
5. Add comments to your friends' blogs by selecting the 'Add Comments' link on the weblog page you wish to respond to. This will bring up the 'Post A Comment' field where you can let your friends know how you feel about their blog.
6. Give your friends the respect they deserve by giving them 'eProps,' a kind of virtual shout-out for good content. Select the radio button for the number of 'eProps' you'd like to give your friend's entry.
7. Click the 'Submit' button to post your comment or 'eProps' to the Xanga weblog.

Tips & Warnings

• If you don't want unknown individuals posting comments to your own Xanga account, disable the comments section in your personal profile. You can also disable comments and 'eProps' for any or all of your blog entries.
• Report inappropriate comments to Xanga by clicking on the 'Report Inappropriate Content' link on the Xanga homepage.
• Become familiar with Xanga's Member Conduct guidelines, which is part of their Terms and Conditions statement every member agrees to abide by when joining (see Resources below). If you do not comply, Xanga may disconnect your account and in some cases, report you to the appropriate authorities.
