Enter the new age of blogging when you create your own Xanga journal online. Through your Xanga journal or weblog, you'll be able to share your thoughts, views and opinions on the things that matter most to you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Valid Xanga user ID and password
  • Computer with Internet connection

Create Your Journal at Xanga

Step1
Log on to the Xanga homepage and enter your user ID and password to create your blog (see Resources below).
Step2
Select the 'New Weblog Entry' tab and you will be taken to the weblog entry page for your account.
Step3
Enter a title for your first weblog or journal entry in the 'Title' field.
Step4
Create content for your own journal entry in the 'Main Entry' field. Here you can enter text, upload pictures or video or even add audio files to your journal entry.
Step5
Use the various editing buttons in the 'Main Entry' field to change the look of your weblog entry. You can change the font and font size, add color and spell check your text entry before you publish it by using these tools.
Step6
Add tags to help others find your entry easier. Enter these in the 'Tags' field under 'Extras.' You can also add more personal information about yourself, such as what you are currently reading, listening to or watching, as well as choose a different profile picture in this section.
Step7
Change the status of your blog entry before you publish it to your Xanga Web site. You can choose to make this entry public, private or protected.
Step8
Choose to enable or disable user comments and 'eProps' for this blog entry before you publish. Select the box for 'Enable eProps and Comments' before you publish.
Step9
Hit the 'Save Changes' button when you have completed your entry. Your first journal entry is now published!

Tips & Warnings

  • If you plan on creating a journal of a very personal nature, consider taking advantage of some of Xanga's privacy features. You'll be able to block non-members from viewing your journal and prevent members from leaving comments. Read more about these features in Xanga's FAQ (see Resources below).
  • Protect your information by choosing a username and password that are unique and not easily discovered when you start or update your Xanga account.
