For many people, blogs have become the media of choice for political discussion, celebrity gossip and commentary. Within the Xanga blog community, you can easily find blogs covering any topic under the sun.

Decide on a Blog Topic to Search

1. Let your chosen topic lead you to keywords or phrases to search with on Xanga. For example, if you are interested in hearing more about what Xangans think about the latest season's fashion trends, you might search using terms like 'fashion,' 'trends,' 'style' or 'fashion designers' with the current year.

2. Know that the more general your search word or terms are, the more results you will receive. This can be helpful or overwhelming--don't be discouraged if you don't find what you are looking for right away. You may need to refine your search terms.

Search Xanga Blogs

3. Log on to the Xanga Web site (see Resources below). From the homepage, you will be able to access the 'Weblogs' tab. Click on it to take you to the homepage for all the Xanga blogs.

4. See that the most current blog entries are listed on the weblogs homepage.

5. Enter your search word or phrase into the 'Search' field and hit the 'Search' button to proceed.

6. Review the results Xanga pulls for your chosen word or phrase.

7. Click on the 'Next' button to see the next page of results. You may be presented with multiple pages of blogs to select from, so be prepared to scroll through several pages before you find what you are interested in.

8. Select the blog you are interested in reading by selecting the corresponding link. You will then be taken to your chosen blog.

9. Comment on the contents of the blog. Xanga is an interactive community that allows its subscribers to leave comments and 'e Props' or compliments for its bloggers. You will need to have a Xanga account or create one to use this feature.
