How to Join Xanga

Join the weblog generation when you create your own personal blog or diary on Xanga. Here, you can post journal entries, communicate with old friends and make new ones. Xanga is an online community where people can discuss the topics in which they are interested.

Things You’ll Need:

• Computer with Internet access
• Valid email account

Visit Xanga to Join Xanga Classic

1. Visit the Xanga homepage (see Resources below). Begin their registration process by clicking on the 'Join' button.
2. Create a 'User name' and a unique password as your log-in for Xanga.
3. Enter your email address and verify the code you will see in the box below.
4. Enter your birthdate and year. Remember that Xanga does not allow children under 13 years of age to join their weblog community.
5. Agree to the Xanga Terms and Conditions by selecting the checkbox. Familiarize yourself with this material before you click the checkbox.
6. Finish the account creation process by hitting the 'Create Account!' button.

Set up Your Xanga Profile

7. Use the 'Xanga Setup Wizard' to create a more detailed public profile. You are not required to provide any information other than your birthdate, which you may keep private.
8. Include images in your profile through the 'Upload a Profile Pic' link.
9. Let fellow 'Xangans' in on who you are and what you like when you fill out the 'More About Me' section. These fields let you list your interests, heroes and other interesting information about yourself for other Xanga users to read.
10. Click on the 'Next' button when you have filled in all the profile information you wish to share with others, including instant messenger contact information. You'll then be prompted to name your blog and create a tag line for your blog.
11. Choose a font style for your blog text and pick one of the Xanga templates. Once you have finished the setup process, you'll be able to customize your blog further.
12. Click on the 'Finish Wizard' button to complete the profile setup process.
