If you're going to be headed on your dream nature vacation and have found some trails where you're going, the next thing you'll need to do is locate lodgings near your trail. Trails.com offers users an extensive, easy-to-use listing of accommodation options near the nature trails in its database.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Valid membership to Trails.com (recommended)
  • Computer with Internet access
  • Credit card (if purchasing a membership)

Find a Place to Stay Near Your Trail

Step1
Visit the Trails.com homepage (see Resources below) to begin.
Step2
Enter your email address and password in the 'Member Login' section of the homepage to access your account, or click the 'Log In' button. The email address and password fields will appear on an 'Account Login' page.
Step3
Get a trial membership if you don't already have member access to the site. Click the 'Start a Free Account' link and fill out the registration form on the 'Free Trial Offer' page.
Step4
Select a trail by clicking on the 'Trail Finder' link and browsing the extensive trail networks listed on Trails.com by activity or geographic region. Click the link of the trail near which you want to locate lodgings. You may also scroll to 'Search for Trails by Zip Code' (within the U.S. only) or 'Search for Trails by Keyword.'
Step5
Find the 'Travel Information' sub-heading on the '[Region] Outdoor Activities' title on the page you'll be redirected to, if you searched by region. You will find a '[Region] Hotels' link. Click the link to be taken to a list of accommodation choices near the area you're searching.
Step6
Locate lodgings near your trail if you searched by zipcode, keyword or activity by clicking on the '[Region] Hotels & Motels' link under the 'Travel Info' sub-heading. You will be redirected to a page featuring hotels and motels in the region.
Step7
Find the 'Hotels' link on any Trails.com page and click on it to be taken to a 'Hotel Reservations' page. From here, you will be able to select a region and view a list of featured accommodations in that area.
