    Search for Blogs by Topic

  1. Step 1

Visit the Technorati homepage (see Resources below). Log in using your username and password if you have a Technorati account. If not, don't worry. An account isn't required for topic-oriented blog searches.

  2. Step 2

Locate the 'Advanced Search' link, which can be found near the main search field. Click on it to be redirected to Technorati's 'Search The Live Web' page.

  3. Step 3

Scroll down the page until you reach the "Blog Directory Search" field.

  4. Step 4

Enter the topic that interests you in the "Find Blogs About" field that accompanies the 'Blog Directory Search' section.

  5. Step 5

Click the "Search" button. You will be redirected to a page which lists the results returned by your search, as well as a figure indicating how many blogs you found.

  6. Step 6

Organize your results according to 'Relevance,' 'Authority' or 'Freshness' as desired by using the drop-down menu.

  7. Step 7

Examine the results for blogs that appeal to you. Direct individual links to those blogs are provided beside the heart-shaped icons that accompany each individual result. More information on the blog itself can be found by clicking on the hyperlink displaying the blog's main title.

  8. Step 8

Notice the "Find Blogs About" list that appears on this page. You can use this to link directly to lists of blogs on any of the given topics, if you're inclined to do a little wandering through cyberspace.

  9. Step 9

Access Technorati's Tools page by clicking on the 'Technorati Tools' link (see Resources below). A multitude of useful help applications will be at your fingertips.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use the 'Advanced Search' option. Though the steps outlined here can also be performed from the basic search field, it will be more useful for you to familiarize yourself with the advanced search page for future visits to Technorati. The 'Advanced Search' option also makes your results easier to organize because of its heightened specificity capabilities.
  • Remember to log out of Technorati when you finish your session if you have an account. This is the best way to ensure the privacy of your account is not put at risk.
