How to Cancel Your Photobucket Account

Photobucket account holders wishing to cancel their accounts need not worry. The process is very quick and efficient with simple online steps to follow. If you ended up with an unwanted Photobucket account in your name, be sure to note this when you cancel and request that Photobucket notify you if another account is set up in your name after cancellation.

Cancel Your Photobucket Account

1. Log in to your account from the homepage (see Resources below). Head to 'Member Login' and enter your username and password.

2. Select 'Account Options' from the main page of your account. You will see a link that you need to click called 'Cancel Account.'

3. Consider choosing the 'Provide Feedback' link. This allows you to send an email to the company regarding your cancellation and questions about the cancellation process, and gives you the opportunity to voice any opinions or comments about the tenure of your service with Photobucket.

4. Read the warnings about account cancellation. You will need to have duplicate copies of the material you have uploaded, as cancelling your account deletes all material from storage and cannot be retrieved even if you set up another account.

5. Choose from the drop-down menu. Photobucket asks your reason for cancellation and that you re-enter an encrypted security code as it appears on the screen for security purposes.

6. Select the 'Delete My Account' button when you've finished. If you've changed your mind, this is also an opportunity to click 'Keep My Account.'

7. Wait for the confirmation message to appear. It should say 'Account will be removed within 48 hours.'

Confirm Your Account Has Been Cancelled

1. Head to the Photobucket homepage. Try to enter your username and password under 'Log in' and make sure it doesn't work.

2. Call Photobucket in advance of the 48-hour cancellation window to confirm your account will be cancelled. The toll-free number is 1-866-428-0596. You can also call after the 48 hours if you prefer.

3. Visit the Photobucket 'Terms of Service' link on the homepage. Here, you find additional information about accounts, limitations of service, password protection, restrictions and refunds.

4. Note the section on Refunds. This applies to paying account holders, such as Pro Account types, and provides information about the dates of service which apply for refunds.

Tips & Warnings

• For additional assistance with account cancellation, be sure to email Photobucket with questions. It's best to do this during the cancellation process. You will see this option under the 'Provide Feedback' link on the initial page for cancellation.

• Make sure your children are monitored when using the computer. For their protection, it's best to monitor their use on Photobucket since personal images and videos may reveal their identities. If in doubt, cancel the account.
