How to Access The Flickr Forums For Help

The Flickr forums provide an incredible amount of information from users all over the world. If you can't find your answer in the official Flickr help page, the forums will most likely provide you with the answers you need. You can also post a question on the Flickr forum if you can't find your answer in the posted answers.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • Digital camera

    Create a Yahoo! ID to Create a Flickr Account

  1. Step 1

    Enter the Flickr home page and click on the "Sign Up" button (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

    Click the "Sign Up" link near the question "Don't Have a Yahoo! ID?"

  3. Step 3

    Enter your details in the Yahoo! fields and read the Terms of Service agreement.

  4. Step 4

    Click on the "I Agree" button to create your account.

  5. Step 5

    Type your Yahoo! ID and password in the fields specified.

  6. Step 6

    Click the "Sign In" button to access your Flickr account.

  7. Access the FAQ

  8. Step 1

    Click on the "Help" link on the main page of your account.

  9. Step 2

    Click on the "FAQ" link to browse official answers to questions about Flickr.

  10. Step 3

    Click on the title of each section, such as the "Photos" link, to read all of the official answers to questions about photos on Flickr.

  11. Step 4

    Click the "Back" button on your browser to return to your list of FAQ links and continue browsing.

  12. Browse the Forums

  13. Step 1

    Click on the "Forums" link to view recent topics, ideas and bugs.

  14. Step 2

    Click on any links underneath the titled sections to read forum posts on that topic.

  15. Step 3

    Click the "Back" button on your browser to return to the previous page and browse more forum topics.

  16. Search for a Forum Topic

  17. Step 1

    Search for a topic by typing in keywords that best apply to your query.

  18. Step 2

    Click the "Search" button to send your search.

  19. Step 3

    Click on the title of each forum to read the posts and replies from other Flickr users.

  20. Post a Question

  21. Step 1

    Click on the "Help" link to enter Flickr's Help Forums (see Resources below).

  22. Step 2

    Click on the "Forum" link to enter the Flickr Forum.

  23. Step 3

    Click on the "Ask Questions" link and then click on "Post A New Topic."

  24. Step 4

    Type in the fields marked "Topic" and "Your Post" to explain your query.

  25. Step 5

    Click on the "Preview" button to view your query.

  26. Step 6

    Click on the "Start Topic" button to publish your question.

Tips & Warnings
  • Check to see if your question has been answered in the Flickr forums before posting a new question (see Resources below).
  • Avoid downloading a "Photo Pack" that may be available in a pop-up Flickr window. These are not official Flickr prompts and are a tactic to collect your personal details.
  • Create a Flickr account with a password that combines letters and numbers to protect your safety.
