How to Share Photos With Friends On Flickr

There are lots of different ways to share your photos on Flickr. You can share your photos via email or create web addresses or Flikr badges your friends can access. You can also select options just to share photos with your family and friends.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • Digital camera

    Sign Into Flickr Using Your Yahoo! ID

  1. Step 1

    Enter Flickr's home page and click on the "Sign Up" button (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

    Type your Yahoo! ID and your password into the fields.

  3. Step 3

    Click on the "Sign In" button to access your account.

  4. Share Your Photos With Your Flickr Web Address

  5. Step 1

    Click on the "You" link on any Flickr page and select "Your Account" from the drop-down box.

  6. Step 2

    Click on the "Create Your Own Memorable Web Address" link.

  7. Step 3

    Type your alias into the Web address field and click on the "Preview" button.

  8. Step 4

    Verify your choice of an alias and Web address. Change it by clicking the "I Need To Choose A Different Alias" link to return to the previous page and edit your alias.

  9. Step 5

    Click on the "OK, Lock It In" button to save your web address and permanently link it to your account.

  10. Step 6

    Copy the Web address listed on the following page and share it with family and friends.

  11. Create a Flickr Badge for Your Website

  12. Step 1

    Visit the Flickr badge site (see Resources below).

  13. Step 2

    Choose which type of Flickr badge you would like, HTML or Flash, by selecting the corresponding radio button.

  14. Step 3

    Click the "Next: Choose Photos" button.

  15. Step 4

    Choose the photos that you will like to display from the radio buttons options.

  16. Step 5

    Click on "Next: Layout" to organize the layout of your badge.

  17. Step 6

    Select your layout options from the radio buttons and then click on "Next: Colors."

  18. Step 7

    Select the colors you would like in your badge.

  19. Step 8

    Click on the "Next: Preview & Get Code" button to generate your code.

  20. Step 9

    Copy the code and paste it to your Web site. Viewers can click the badge to view your photos.

Tips & Warnings
  • When selecting your password for Flickr, be sure that you make a password that you'll remember, but one that isn't too easy. Combine letters and numbers for your own unique password.
  • For help on sharing photos, search Flickr's forums for advice from real members (see Resources below).
  • If you create your own Web address to share your Flickr photos, it can't be changed once it is made. Choose wisely!
