How to Create Your Own News Feed On Facebook
Each Facebook News Feed highlights what's going on with your friends. You'll see when they add friends, receive gifts and just about anything else that you may find when you click around the Web site. You can organize your feed to announce the news you want shared.

Instructions

Create a News Feed on Your Profile
-
1
Log in to Facebook (see Resources below). You should see your News Feed right on your home page.
-
2
Click the "Preferences" link to change the news you see.
-
3
Set your story type preferences. Perhaps you want to see more events and fewer photos. The news feed preferences works like a stereo equalizer. Move each slider up for more about the subject and down for less about the subject. All the features that are shared can be adjusted with these settings.
-
4
Stack your own feed with news about certain friends. Just choose the people you'd rather hear about more often and add them to the "More About These Friends" list by typing their names and hitting the "Add" button.
-
5
Stop reading about friends you don't care about. Maybe a certain friend is hogging the feed, or you just don't want to read about your ex-boyfriend's new girls, so add them to the "Less About These Friends" list.
Control Your Friends' News Feeds
-
1
Head to the "My Privacy" page while logged in to Facebook. You will want to "Edit Settings" for the News Feed and Mini-Feed section. Visit the Help section for guidance on privacy levels (see Resources below).
-
2
Select the items you want your friends to see. Anything that is not checked will not be shared on other news feeds.
-
3
Remember to click the "Save Changes" button to finalize your preferences. The items you don't want to share will be removed from your friends' news feeds immediately.

Tips & Warnings
Don't remember your friend's Facebook name? No worries, Facebook will auto-complete the form, along with showing you his or her main network. Just start typing.
Changing the privacy settings does not impact your own news feed, only what your friends see about you.
For basic troubleshooting tips, check out Facebook Help (see Resources below).
Default privacy levels allow your friends to see all actions that you take on Facebook. You must change the settings so that only the information you want to share is shown.
