Positive feedback is your key to greatness on eBay. When you receive positive feedback, it tells the entire eBay community that you are trustworthy. Trust is so important on eBay. When you regularly deal with people over the Internet--people you cannot see--a little bit of trust goes a long way. Positive feedback is a wonderful tool available to all eBay users that lets buyers and sellers alike know that you will deal with them in a fair and honest way. This results in increased sales and smoother transactions when you buy. Positive feedback is something you should strive to receive every time you use eBay.

Be Good and Receive Positive Feedback on eBay

Step1
Log on to your eBay account (see Resources below).
Step2
Click on "My eBay."
Step3
Find the "My Account" link and click on "Feedback."
Step4
Click on the "Leave Feedback" button.
Step5
Choose items you have bought or sold for which you have not yet left feedback. A list of these items will be presented to you.
Step6
Click on the items for which you wish to leave feedback.
Step7
Leave positive feedback by clicking on the circle beside "Positive." If the buyer or seller of this item has not yet left feedback for you, leaving positive feedback for them greatly increases your chances they will reciprocate.
Step8
Deal honestly with all buyers and sellers you encounter on eBay. This is the single most important thing you can do to receive positive feedback. If your item descriptions are accurate, your shipping policies are fair and you ship your items (or pay for them) promptly, you can be sure plenty of positive feedback is coming your way.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have more questions about how to receive positive feedback on eBay, go to their voluminous Help page (see Resources below).
  • When writing descriptions for items you are selling, make sure that you present those items as accurately as possible. A leading cause of negative feedback is inaccurate item descriptions.
  • eBay is a secure site and takes extraordinary measures to ensure it stays that way. However, you can add an extra layer of security to your personal information that is stored on the site by changing your password often and selecting passwords that will not be easily guessed. Simple steps like this stop hackers in their tracks and go a long way toward protecting your identity.
