How to Cancel a Listing on eBay

If you use eBay regularly, you may occasionally find that you need to cancel one of your listings before it's scheduled to expire. Here's how to go about it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Valid eBay membership
  • Computer with Internet connection

Step1
Visit eBay and log on to your account (see the Resources section below).
Step2
Click on 'My eBay.'
Step3
Click on 'Selling.'
Step4
Search the list of items you are currently selling and find the item you want to cancel.
Step5
Write down the Item Number of the item you want to cancel.
Step6
Click on 'My eBay.'
Step7
Find the 'Related Links' box and click on 'More.'
Step8
Click 'End My Listing Early.'
Step9
Enter the Item Number you wrote down and click 'Continue.'
Step10
Dispose of your bids. At this point, if your item already has bids on it, you can elect to either cancel all existing bids or award the item to the highest bidder.
Step11
Tell eBay why you are canceling the listing. There will be a number of choices provided; click on the one that applies to you.
Step12
Breathe a sigh of relief. Your listing is now canceled.

  • If you need more help to cancel your listing on eBay, visit the site's vast Help section.
  • Be careful when revealing personal information. eBay will never give your private details to other members. However, if you have private email or telephone contact with another eBay user, it 's a good idea to be selective in the personal information you reveal.
  • Understand that if you cancel a listing on eBay, you will still be charged listing fees for that item whether you sell it or not.
