How to Search for Videos on YouTube
Finding specific video content on YouTube does not have to be a long and painful process. There are several ways to search for videos on the site, and all of them are intuitive and easy to follow.

Search for Videos by Subject

Go to the YouTube home page (see the Resources section below). You can log in with an existing account or create a new one, but an account is not required to search for videos.

Enter the search parameter for the videos you're looking for in the 'Search' bar on the home page. Examples include 'Basketball' or 'Dogs and Cats.' Be as specific as possible.

Click 'Search.' The system will display a list of videos that meet your criteria.

Select any video for viewing at any time by clicking on the video's image or text link.
Search for Videos by Category

Click on the 'Categories' tab.

Browse through the multiple categories. Examples include 'Entertainment' and 'People & Blogs.'

Select your category by clicking on any image or text in the boxes.

Click on any video on the specific category pages to load the content.
Search for Videos By Channel

Click on the 'Channels' tab from the home page. Everyone who joins YouTube automatically has his or her own Channel and can personalize at will.

View the available content on the resulting page. Clicking on any image or Channel name will load all submitted videos by that individual member.

Create an account and utilize YouTube's Subscriptions feature. You can choose to be notified whenever a specific member uploads a new video.

Use the Time, Category, and Language links on any Videos, Categories or Channels page to refine your searches or explore more content options.
