How to Get a Price Quote on a New Car at Yahoo! Autos

At Yahoo! Autos, you can browse through listings of available vehicles, build your dream car and get actual price quotes for the auto you want, all from the comfort of your living room. Collect several competitive quotes before you even set foot on a dealer's lot, and increase your bargaining power.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer with Internet connection
  1. Step 1

    Go to the Yahoo! Autos site (see the Resources section below).

  2. Step 2

    Click the 'Get A Quote' link in the New Cars box on the Yahoo Autos home page.

  3. Step 3

    Find the Start Now section of the resulting page, and choose the make and model you'd like a quote on from the pull-down menus.

  4. Step 4

    Enter your zip code in the space provided.

  5. Step 5

    Click 'Get Quotes.'

  6. Step 6

    Use the pull-down menus to provide details on the type of new car you'd like to get a quote on. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required.

  7. Step 7

    Enter your contact information, including name, address, phone numbers and email address in the appropriate fields.

  8. Step 8

    Select a good contact time from the pull-down menu.

  9. Step 9

    Choose a purchase time period from the 'Buying How Soon' pull down menu.

  10. Step 10

    Check whether or not you'll be including a trade-in. This field is optional.

  11. Step 11

    Indicate your intended payment method. Note that you are not committing yourself to a purchase. This is just valuable information for the dealer.

  12. Step 12

    Add any comments you wish, and click 'Continue to Final Step.'

  13. Step 13

    Click the 'Submit To Get Your Free Quotes' link. Dealers in your area will contact you with price quotes.

  • Assemble a list of makes and models you are interested in, including the specific features and options you require, before starting the quote process.
  • Requesting a quote is in no way a contractually binding action. You may request quotes from as many dealers about as many cars as you choose, with no obligation to buy.
