Tips & Warnings

  • Before reporting any possible fraud to Yahoo! Autos, gather as much information about the violation as you can, including the user's Yahoo! ID, the URL of the offending listing, and the email address of the violator.

  • For more information on reporting fraud, see the Yahoo! Autos Help pages.

  • Yahoo! Autos advises that one way to help keep yourself save from fraud is to meet the seller before you buy a car.

  • Do not report fraud until you're certain the allegation is warranted. You will not be able to fully retract a report.

  • Scams are particularly prevalent among sellers who purport to be located outside the United States. Be aware that if you are not able to physically inspect the vehicle before you buy it, your chances of being a victim of fraud go up.
