How to Edit a Wikipedia Article
Helping to shape the content of Wikipedia is an exciting way to interact with the virtual community. The articles on Wikipedia are created by Internet users just like you, and are open to continual updates and additions by following these steps.

Visit the Wikipedia home page to find articles of interest to you (see the Resources section below).

Search for articles by entering key words or search terms in the 'Search' field and hitting the arrow button.

Select an article by clicking on its link. Depending on your query, you may be presented with more than one article to choose from.

Click on the 'Edit This Page' tab of the article you wish to edit. If you wish to edit only certain sections of the page, click on the 'Edit' link associated with that section.

Make changes to the Wikipedia page in the 'Sandbox' if you are relatively new to the Wikipedia process. You will find a link to this protected work environment on the 'Edit This Page' page. The 'Sandbox' allows you test content formatting without making changes to the actual page.

Use the text box on the 'Edit This Page' page or the 'Sandbox' to make your corrections.

Include a brief editorial summary with your changes. This will let other users know what changes were made and why. Use the field below the edit box for this purpose.

Hit the 'Show Preview' button to view your changes.

Click on the 'Save Page' button when you are satisfied with your edits. Your content will now be viewable on the original article page.
