Upload Photographs to Wikipedia Articles

Visit the Wikipedia Web site and click on the link to articles in the language of your choice (see the Resources section below).

Search for the article to which you wish to add content by entering its title into the 'Search' field and hitting the 'Go' button.

Save your image file with a descriptive to avoid encountering duplicate file names in the Wikipedia system.

Determine whether or not your photograph or photographs meet Wikipedia's requirements. All images must be saved as a JPG file (with the file extension '.jpg') and must comply with all copyright laws as presented in Wikipedia image-use policy.

Log in to your account before you begin uploading your images by clicking on the 'Sign In' link and supplying your username and password.

Click on the 'Upload File' link in the 'Toolbox' menu found on the article's home page.

Browse for the image file you wish to upload by clicking on the 'Browse' button. You may also enter the filename and extension into the 'Source Filename' field.

Complete the 'Summary' field with the author or source of the image, any legal notification regarding fair use of licensed images, and the other standards outlined in Wikipedia's image-use policy (which is summarized in the 'Note' section of the upload tool).

Hit the 'Upload File' button when you have supplied the necessary information for your images.

Add the photograph to the article by editing the article page. Select the 'Edit' link in the section of the article to which you wish to add the image.

Enter the following code where you wish your image to be displayed: '[[Image:Image name|thumb|Caption]]' Enter the name of the image file as it was saved in Wikipedia and insert a brief description of the image to replace the 'Caption' text.
