Few Web sites offer as much room for personal expression as MySpace. Not only can you add blogs, photos, comments and bulletins to your profile to show what you've been up to, but you can also include music, videos and even podcasts. Here's how to add a podcast to your MySpace profile.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet access
  • MySpace account
  • Computer
  • Account with a Web site that will directly host podcasts (either your own or a podcast community)

    Share Your Podcast on MySpace

  1. Step 1

Log onto MySpace by entering your account information into the 'Member Sign In' box on the homepage (see the Resources section below). If you don't already have an account, you'll need to create one by clicking the 'Sign Me Up!' link.

  2. Step 2

Click the 'Edit Profile' link on your personal MySpace profile's homepage.

  3. Step 3

Access the necessary HTML code required to embed the podcast you wish to share. This is often as simple as clicking a link on your podcast's page entitled 'Embed' or 'Paste to MySpace.'

  4. Step 4

Copy the code for embedding from the host site. This can be done using Control-C, Open-Apple-C or by selecting 'Copy' from the right-click menu of your mouse.

  5. Step 5

Paste the code you copied earlier into the 'About Me' text field. This can be done by pressing Control-V, Open-Apple-V or by clicking 'Paste' from the right-click menu of your mouse.

  6. Step 6

Click 'Save All Changes' once you've finished entering the code. You can also 'Cancel' or 'Preview Changes' prior to confirming your entries.

  7. Record Your Podcast

  8. Step 1

Have your podcast material prepared ahead of time. This will make your entry easier to complete.

  9. Step 2

Follow the instructions included with your microphone and audio software in order to complete your podcast. Each microphone and audio studio will be different, so familiarity will make the process smoother.

  10. Step 3

Upload your podcasts to a podcast hosting site to share it with people outside the MySpace community.

Tips & Warnings
  • Invest in a good microphone for your podcasts. Poor sound won't please visitors.
  • Keep your podcast clean, and refrain from inappropriate language. You may wind up being banned by MySpace.
