Few Web sites can claim to have more of an impact on the way we connect with friends, family and millions of others like MySpace does. Whether you're trying to get back in touch with people you knew in the past or are trying to generate buzz for your rock band, MySpace offers one of the best and most visible outlets. Posting bulletins is just one option you have for getting the word out! Follow these steps to find out how to do it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Internet access
  • MySpace account
  • Computer

Post Bulletins for Your Friends to Read

Step1
Log into your MySpace account. If you don't already have one, start by clicking the "Sign Me Up!" link in the "Member Login" box (see Resources below).
Step2
Be aware that bulletins are messages sent to all of your friends at the same time. This eliminates the need to select each recipient individually.
Step3
Click the "Post Bulletin" link on your personal MySpace page.
Step4
Enter a bulletin title in the "Text Field" next to the caption "Subject."
Step5
Type the body of your bulletin in the large text field next to the "Body" caption. There's no limit to the size of the bulletin. It's possible to copy and paste text from other sources directly into this field.
Step6
Embed images and links using the bulletin system. Either enter the code free-hand or simply copy and paste it from other sources. It's important to verify your entry to ensure it's accurate. Otherwise, the link or image will not work properly.
Step7
Click the "Post" button at the bottom of the page to complete the bulletin. You'll still have a chance to edit it before you make the post official.
Step8
Proofread your bulletin for typos and formatting on the next page. Confirm the bulletin by selecting the "Post Bulletin" button, or choose to "Edit" or "Cancel" the bulletin.
Step9
Check out your friends' own bulletins from your personal MySpace page. The most recent 5 will be visible. You can click "View All Bulletin Entries" if you want to see more.

Tips & Warnings

  • Consider creating a blog instead of using the bulletin system. While bulletins are a great way to communicate, the blog system in place at MySpace permits users (non-friends included) to receive emails whenever you update, making it easier and more likely for people to see your latest happenings.
  • Don't post bulletins that contain links to pornography or spam. These actions can and will lead to you getting banned from the MySpace community if reported.
