If you really want to liven up your MySpace page, consider adding a background color. You'll need to learn the HTML code for the color you choose. Once you do, you'll be able to make your personal page as jazzy as you like. You don't need special programs to add background color to your MySpace page. Everything you need is right on the MySpace Web site. Follow these steps to learn how to add one.

  • Computer with Internet access

    Choose a Color for Your MySpace Background

  1. Step 1

    Go to your favorite search engine and type "HTML color codes" into the search box. Click the "Search" button or its equivalent.

  2. Step 2

    Click the link of one of the search results to view color codes.

  3. Step 3

    Choose a color for your background and write down its 6-digit code

  4. Add a Background Color to Your MySpace Profile Page

  5. Step 1

    Visit the MySpace home page to log into your account (see Resources below).

  6. Step 2

    Click "Edit Profile" on your personal profile page.

  7. Step 3

    In the "About Me" section of the "Edit Profile" page, type "".

    Click the "Save All Changes" button.

    Click the "View My Profile" link to see your new background color.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't use the number sign in your color code. It will prevent the background color from showing properly.
  • If your color fails to show, check over your coding carefully. A typo can keep your code from working.
  • Use the "View My Profile" link to see your new background color. The "Preview Profile" button on the "Edit Profile" page doesn't always show every detail of your page.
  • Avoid giving your password to other users who offer to help you with your profile page. They could post other things using your account or make changes against your wishes.
