Things You'll Need:
- Computer with Internet access
- Digital camera
-
Step 1
Go to Craigslist (see the link in Resources below) and click "Post to Classifieds."
-
Step 2
Click the "For Sale/Wanted" link.
-
Step 3
Choose the "Jewelry" subcategory.
-
Step 4
Pick a location nearest to your home (or pickup site) from the list provided.
-
Step 5
Complete the post form, including a catchy yet informative title, an accurate description of your jewelry and your email address.
-
Step 1
Include a picture with your ad by selecting "Add/Edit Images" in the post dialog box.
-
Step 2
Select the digital image(s) you want to upload by clicking "Browse", and then placing the title of the image in the "Add" box.
-
Step 3
Include a front and back view of your jewelry when possible.
-
Step 4
Price your jewelry fairly. If you ask for twice the market value, you are much less likely to get interested buyers.
-
Step 1
Be willing to negotiate. If you are asking $200 and someone offers you $100, wait for the next buyer. However, if you get an offer reasonably close to your asking price, you should consider it.
-
Step 2
Meet in person if possible to compete your jewelry sale. Doing so ensures that you will receive cash for the piece immediately, and you won't have to worry about shipping, handling and insurance.
-
Step 3
Ship to buyers at their expense and always include the cost of shipping insurance in the selling price.
