5. Check the Web site of the agency and find if they have placed any children with a gay parent or gay parents. Learn more about the support services that they provide before and after adoption.
6. Learn more about the details of the adoption process. Find out if gay parents who want to adopt have to go through any special procedure for adoption.
7. Find out what steps the agency needs to take to ensure that the child is placed in the best environment.
8. Talk to gay couples who have adopted children from that agency. Learn about the support provided by the agency before and after the adoption.
9. Determine costs, including attorney fees and all other expenses. Compare the cost of all the agencies that you have on your list.
