1. Decide on a budget. Once you have figured out your limit, it will be easier to plan out what you are capable of doing with the menu.
2. Decide how you want to serve the meal. Buffet-style usually works better for big wedding receptions.
3. Consider how many courses you would like to have during the reception. Do you want appetizers? Do you want entrées or desert?
4. Plan whether the food will be served outside or indoors. If outside, your possibilities could then include sandwich platters or barbecue.
5. Check over all of the drinks and foods and make sure you have catered to all of your guests. Request an RSVP as soon as you can to be sure exactly how much food you need.
