Meet with the consultant and explain your wedding ideas, including where you want to have the ceremony or any themes that you have in mind. See how the wedding consultant reacts to your ideas.

Familiarize yourself with the consultant's experience. Ask to see pictures of weddings they have helped with in the past, licenses, reference letters and a resume.
