Step 1
WATCH THE COACHELLA MOVIE. This 2 hour film had a nationwide theatrical release in early 2006, and is now available on DVD in your local Blockbuster, Best Buy, on Netflix, etc. It's mostly music performances from the first 6 years of the festival, intercut with interviews with artists and fans.
It's phenomenal! VERY well done. I have a large collection of live music DVDs, and this is my favorite. I can watch it over and over. It really captures the "spirit" of Coachella, and what it's like to be there.

Step 2
WATCH SOME HIGHLIGHTS. Go to http://www.youtube.com and just do a search for "Coachella" and look at some of the clips. Find some clips from your favorite past performances. You can find clips from just about every artist who's played the past few years!
Some of my favorite clips are:

Step 3
DISCUSS ONLINE. The official Coachella message board at http://www.coachella.com/forum/ is very busy, with thousands of Coachella fans discussing all things Coachella and various other topics. Most of the peeps on there are genuinely excited about the festival and love talking about it with other fans. But if you've never posted there before, be warned: it's not exactly a bastion of civil dialogue. There are a lot of sarcastic smartasses on there who love to "stir the pot" so if you express an opinion on there, be prepared to get teased, mocked, and goofed on. Don't take offense, it's just an internet messageboard. Ignore the wiseasses, and you'll find plenty of people on there providing useful information and interesting opinions.
