After the vows have been taken and the honeymoon is over, a new couple has to select wedding pictures. Commemorating your nuptials with pictures requires you to dig through stacks of proofs to find that perfect shot of you and your spouse. Read on to learn how to select your wedding pictures.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Wedding picture proofs

Step1
Contact your wedding photographer. Usually, the photographer prepares a series of thumbnail-sized pictures, called proof sheets, that you can look over.
Step2
Examine the proof sheets. Note which pictures would be suitable for a wedding album. These pictures typically show the bride and groom’s wedding kiss, the first dance and other memorable moments.

Step3
Choose a picture of the bride and groom that is suitable for framing. This will be the official wedding photo.
Step4
Select a picture of the entire wedding party—bride and groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen—to send to everyone in the wedding party as a keepsake.
Step5
Pick a photo of the bride with her parents and grandparents. This will be presented to the bride’s side of the family. Repeat this process with the groom.
Step6
Order copies of the chosen photos in the size and formatting that you desire. Make sure to get extra copies of photographs of the bride and groom together.

Tips & Warnings

  • Find out if you get the negatives of your wedding photos. If you don’t, that means the photographer may charge you a small fee each time you want to make copies of the photos.
  • If you had flower girls or ring bearers at your wedding, make sure you get pictures of them in action, as well as a couple of posed shots, for their parents.
  • Selecting the best wedding photos involves sorting through a lot of good photos and making tough decisions.
