A wedding with a Halloween theme is a more casual affair that is very light hearted and fun in nature. Read on to learn how to plan a wedding with a Halloween theme.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide to what extent you would like to theme your wedding around Halloween.

  2. Step 2

If you want everything to be Halloween, start with the invitations. Send out cards in the shape of a witch's cauldron and use Halloween words in your invitation.

  3. Step 3

Let your guests know if you would like them to dress in costume for the ceremony.

  4. Step 4

When planning the attire for the wedding party, you may want to take presentation into consideration. If you want everyone in the wedding party to be in costume, plan for some continuity so that the arrangement of the wedding party is pleasing to the eye. If everyone is wearing something different, the guests won't know where to look and may miss the whole ceremony looking at everyone's different costumes.

  5. Step 5

When planning the ceremony, remember that a wedding is a sacred event. While you can certainly have fun with the theme, you do not want to undermine the intention of the ceremony itself. Save all the wild and funny elements for the reception.

  6. Step 6

If you are having a receiving line, have members of the wedding party hand out candy.

  7. Step 7

    Plan to have Halloween cupcakes.

  8. Step 8

Use decorations such as spider webs and skeletons that evoke the spirit of Halloween.

  9. Step 9

Give guests trick-or-treat bags with the couple's name and wedding date monogrammed on them as wedding favors.
