Whether you use your cell phone for work or just to stay in touch, you can rack up a lot of messages in your phone's memory in a short time. If you like to send and receive text messages, you may want to save some of these messages on your computer and free up the memory for other things. If you sync your cell phone text messages to your PC, you don't have to enter each message by hand.

Tips & Warnings
  • Pay very close attention to the operating system compatibilities of software. Be aware that cell phone syncing software may not be able to support every feature of your cell phone.
  • Make sure to get a USB cable that is meant to work with your cell phone. Although you can use a Bluetooth or infrared connection to perform a sync, the USB cable offers greater reliability for this task.
  • Do not unplug the cell phone from your computer while a sync is in progress. You may lose or damage text message files.
