Father’s Day is celebrated all over the world. In Greece it is observed on the third Sunday of June. Read on to learn how to celebrate Father's Day in Greece.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Food
  • Greeting card
  • Gift
  • Red roses

Step1
Treat your father with breakfast in bed. You can present some fresh red roses and a handmade card along the breakfast table.
Step2
Make a note of your dad’s favorite things. Know the food he likes most, gifts that he would like, games he loves and people whom he adores.
Step3
Remember, it is not the food alone that makes the difference. Look out for innovative ways to present it too. Set up the breakfast in the way your dad likes it most. It could be in the bed, on the roof or in the kitchen. He will love all the pampering.
Step4
Choose a gift for your father with great care. Look for something unusual that would surprise him for sure. It could be a holiday he has been planning for a while, his favorite gadget or even his favorite accessory.
Step5
If you can't think of a gift, search online for possible ideas. See the Resources section below for a link.
Step6
Think of an unconventional way to present the gift to your dad. Leave clues about the gift and let him guess.
Step7
Plan an elaborate meal. If cooking at home, choose from authentic Greek dishes such as Moussaka (eggplant casserole), Dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), Souvlaki (grilled meat) and Greek Salad with Tzatziki (yogurt, cucumber and garlic dip).
Step8
Finish off with Baklava (layers of pastry with nuts, sugar, syrup and spices) or Loukoumades (type of donuts).
Step9
Take him out to his favorite restaurant for lunch or dinner if you prefer to go out instead of cooking at home. Ensure that it’s a special and elegant restaurant befitting the occasion.
Step10
Go out for an outing such as picnic or day trip.
Step11
Plan a surprise bash for your father. Choose a theme that your father would like for the party. Call his friends and some relatives too.
Step12
Make the day special for your husband if your children are too young to understand the significance of this day. Help your children do something special for their dad.

Tips & Warnings

  • Plan the day in advance. This will help you optimize the time and resources. List all the activities you want to include in the day and make preparations.
