The Miami Vice is a potent layered drink, but taking the alcohol out of it softens its bite and gives it a more festive, friendlier feel. The non-alcoholic Miami Vice is relatively easy to make and looks like a more complicated drink than it really is. Just follow these simple, step-by-step instructions to make a non-alcoholic Miami Vice.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Cocktail glass
  • Frozen daiquiri mix
  • Pina coloda mix

Step1
Prepare and freeze the Pina Colada mix. You’ll need about 2 and a half ounces of it.
Step2
Prepare and freeze the daiquiri mix. You’ll also need about 2 and a half ounces of that.
Step3
Get a martini glass or a cocktail glass with a conical vessel that can hold upward of 5 ounces.
Step4
Layer the Pina Colada mix into the bottom of the cocktail.
Step5
Without mixing it with the first layer, layer the daiquiri mix on top of the Pina Colada mix making a second tier to the drink.

Tips & Warnings

  • Changing the order of the mixes, the type of daiquiri, or even the list of frozen ingredients are a few ways to keep this basic recipe interesting through the years.
  • To make this drink into an alcoholic Miami Vice, you mix each of the frozen mixes with Bacardi 151 Rum instead of the water used to make the mix above.
  • If you choose to make the alcoholic version of this drink, watch out.
