When your guests get to the reception, they’ll be ready to party down and celebrate the ceremony they just witnessed. What better way to show your appreciation and set the mood of the celebration than to have wedding favors for your guests waiting at their tables. Here’s how to accentuate the tables at your wedding reception with favors for your guests.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tables
  • Wedding favors
  1. Step 1

Choose a wedding favor. The favor should have the names of the bride and groom, the date of the wedding, and perhaps a personal sentiment on it.

  2. Step 2

Have the favors there when the reception is being set up. They should be ready along with all the other decorations for the reception.

  3. Step 3

Place the favors around each table. If there are enough favors for everybody, put one in front of each chair.

  4. Step 4

Share the favors. When the favors are intended to be shared (like confetti poppers) place them equidistance around each table.

Tips & Warnings
  • Save money by getting your wedding favors in bulk or online.
  • To make your favors more personal and less expensive, consider making them yourself. Popular favors include mix CDs with the couple’s favorite songs or burned DVDs of friends and family.
  • A popular thing to distribute at the reception along with favors (or instead of them) are disposable cameras. Then, at the end of the wedding, they’re turned into the bride and groom and the guests get a slideshow CD of all the pictures taken randomly.
  • Remember that all sorts of people--young, old, conservative, liberal--are going to be getting your wedding favors. Try to make them memorable and not offensive.
  • Don’t choose favors that will be distracting from the dancing and socializing. The focus of the wedding reception should not be on the favors.
