Maybe you made a promise to your best friend years ago that she would definitely be in your wedding, but you haven't spoken for a while. 4. Keep in mind that it is your wedding and, though a friend might be hurt at first by not being chosen, your friends and family will understand and respect your choices.

5. Narrow down your options based on the size of bridal party that you are planning for.

6. Choose the women whom you believe will best be there for you–—both at your wedding, the reception and while you are planning the wedding.
