How to Choose Your Bridal Party

Maybe you made a promise to your best friend years ago that she would definitely be in your wedding, but you haven't spoken for a while. Maybe your closest friends don't hold the same place in your life that you sister–—or even your fiance's sister–—always has. How do you choose your bridal party? Here are some suggestions.

1. Consider the role of the bridal party. They'll be standing along side you. They will help you to plan your wedding and will have a role in planning your bridal shower and reception as well.
2. Consider the popular choices for your bridal party: your sister, your fiances sister, close friends or family members.
3. Think about what you want from the women in your bridal party and talk it over with your fiance.
4. Keep in mind that it is your wedding and, though a friend might be hurt at first by not being chosen, your friends and family will understand and respect your choices.
5. Narrow down your options based on the size of bridal party that you are planning for.
6. Choose the women whom you believe will best be there for you–—both at your wedding, the reception and while you are planning the wedding.
