When it comes to your wedding day, you want everything to be perfect. This isn't just about the big details, it's even about the small things–—like the smell of the groom's cologne. Here's how to make the right choice.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Smell different colognes. Go to the fragrance counter; smell the cologne soon after spraying it on a fragrance card, again 10 minutes later and again about half an hour after that to see how the scent holds up.

  2. Step 2

Check the ingredients in the colognes you are thinking about to be sure that you are not allergic to the ingredients that are used in making them.

  3. Step 3

Choose a cologne that works with your skin type–—whether you have sensitive, dry or oily skin.

  4. Step 4

Try a couple of different colognes to make sure that the fragrance is not overpowering and that the bride is not overly sensitive to it.

  5. Step 5

Choose a fragrance that either will be the same as the groomsmen or that will be complementary to that fragrance.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose a scent that you like but that is neutral and clean.
  • Don't choose a cologne that is overpowering.
