Having the right foods at your wedding reception is a big deal: your guests will remember the meal that they were served. Here are some points to consider when you choose foods for your wedding reception brunch.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Keep in mind that you are planning a brunch: you'll be ordering different foods and adding different items to a menu than you would if you were having a dinner reception.

  2. Step 2

How formal will your reception be? The foods that you will add to the menu for an outdoor wedding brunch would be different from those chosen for a wedding reception that you are holding in a ballroom.

  3. Step 3

Think about who will be attending the wedding brunch. If you are having mainly guests who are in their twenties and thirties, your menu will be different than if you are having a large number of kids or older guests.

  4. Step 4

Choose what you and your fiance want to have at your wedding. After all, it's your wedding reception, and you should be able to have the foods that you want to have.

  5. Step 5

See what your caterer offers. Simply put, if the caterer who you are using for your wedding reception brunch does not make a certain dish, you will not be able to add it to your menu.

  6. Step 6

Decide whether or not you will be having a theme to the menu at your reception brunch.

  7. Step 7

Meet with the caterer to taste different options and choose the items that you will include at your wedding reception brunch.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're planning a buffet style wedding reception brunch, consider setting up a number of different buffet stations (such as one for eggs, another for waffles and another for fruit) so that the lines don't get backed up.
  • Keep cost in mind whenever you add items to the brunch menu.
