How to Plan a 4th of July Themed Wedding

Many couples enjoy marrying during the summer months. For those whose wedding date falls on the 4th of July, there are many fun yet sophisticated ideas for celebrating the birthday of our nation as well as the wedding ceremony itself.

Instructions

1. Consider having the bridesmaids wear red and blue. Half the bridesmaids can wear red while the other half wears blue, or the dresses can be red with a blue sash or vice versa.

2. Have the groom, best man, groomsmen and ring bearer wear red and/or blue in their ties.

3. Keep the color palette for the flowers in the white and cream family. If you are going to bind the flowers with a ribbon, use either white or some sort of very subtle red, white, and blue flower. If the ribbon's patter is too busy, it will interfere with the look of the rest of the decor.

4. If possible, plan for an outdoor reception.

5. At the reception, use centerpieces that incorporate red, white, and blue. If the wedding is more casual, using an upside down white hat with red and blue flowers or other decorations in the middle is a fun idea.

6. String white star lights from the tent or other structure used for the reception.

7. Consider serving food commonly found at a 4th of July barbecue such as corn on the cob, grilled meat, and cut fruit.

8. If possible, hire a company to perform a fire works show.

9. Give the guests sparklers rather than rice to use as you are exiting the reception.
