How to Incorporate Your Personality in Your Proposal

Proposing to the one you would like to spend the rest of your life with can be a daunting task. If you incorporate your own personality into the proposal, you may feel less nervous than you would if you tried to act in a way that was not natural for you. Follow these steps for incorporating your personality into your proposal.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Decide which aspects of your personality you feel are most appropriate for a proposal. If you are funny at times and serious at times, you will need to decide which way to go for the proposal.

  2. Step 2

If you are not sure of your own personality traits, ask a trusted friend or family member to help you. Often, those closest to us see things in us that we do not see for ourselves.

  3. Step 3

Once you have decided which parts of your personality to infuse into the proposal, write out a script of what you would like to say.

  4. Step 4

Be sure to include phrases and sayings that are natural to you.

  5. Step 5

Become very familiar with what you want to say, but do not memorize it. If you memorize what you want to say, you may end up sounding stiff and unnatural.

  6. Step 6

Remember to consider your personality while planning when and where to propose.

  7. Step 7

If you forget what you had planned to say during the proposal, don't panic! Just speak from your heart and say what you are feeling at the moment!
