Traveling to Los Angeles County? Want to be able to find a quiet beach? Here are some suggestions that will make the process a bit easier for you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Want a wide sandy beach where you can unwind with your dog? Exit from Ocean Boulevard between the Belmont Pier and 54th Place and head to Belmont Shore Beach.
Step2
Looking for plenty of space? Would 40 acres of land and water be enough? If so, then your best bet would be to head to Colorado Lagoon in Long Beach.
Step3
Looking for a beach in Malibu with fewer crowds? If so, you will find a quiet beach spot at Nicholas Canyon Beach or at La Piedra State Beach.
Step4
If you want to find a beach that is near LAX with recent renovations, then your best chance for finding the right beach is to head to Dockweiler State Beach in Playa del Ray. And, if you have an RV and want to camp near the beach, you'll be able to reserve a spot at Dockweiler RV Park.
Step5
If you want to find a beach that will let you spread out, but still take in the Southern California beach experience, consider taking a trip to Zuma Beach in Malibu. Drive along the Pacific Coast Highway to find the right spot of beach for you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Beaches are often less crowded on weekdays than they are during the weekends.
  • Belmont Shore Beach is the only beach in Los Angeles County where dogs are permitted.
