Step 1
Ask the person to sit in front of a mirror. Comb the hair thoroughly so that there are no knotted strands.
-
Step 2
Spray the hair with normal water, especially if the hair is dry or curly.
-
Step 3
Divide the hair into horizontal sections. Clip them on the head, if necessary. Twist the hair before clipping in case it is too long.
-
Step 4
Release the section closest to the base of the neck.
-
Step 5
Run a comb through the released section of hair. Begin from one side and hold hair at about a quarter of an inch from the end, between your index and middle fingers before freeing the comb.
-
Step 6
Snip off about 1/8 inch using a sharp pair of scissors.
-
Step 7
Release the snipped hair. Note that the snipped hair is shorter than adjacent strands. Use snipped hair as the reference. Comb through another segment of hair. Hold it between your index and middle fingers and snip. Repeat until the entire released section of hair is of the same length.
-
Step 8
Unclip the next section of hair and comb it with the snipped section. Notice the cut line. Follow the steps above to shorten the released section of hair and bring it to the same length as that of the earlier one.
-
Step 9
Use the comb and brush thoroughly to ensure that the hair cut is uniform and proper.
