Legoland, located in the village of Carlsbad near San Diego, California, is a fantastically fun theme park for kids of all ages. There are a multitude of rides and attractions to delight the whole family, and you could easily spend several days here and keep having fun up until the last second! The Legoland Web site is just as thorough, and includes many features that will help make planning your trip to Legoland a breeze.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Computer with Internet access
  • Credit card for buying tickets online
  • A printer to print out tickets

Step1
Check out the Legoland Web site to find out current prices for entry. If you wish, you can purchase your tickets online and print them out at home (see Resources below).
Step2
Use the Legoland Web site to book accommodation, or check out Hotels.com. You can book online at both places.
Step3
Decide on a budget. Include Legoland ticket prices as well as accommodations, food, and extra spending money for souvenirs and unplanned expenses.
Step4
If you’re traveling by road, use MapQuest, the Rand McNally road trip planner or a similar tool to map out your journey.
Step5
Pack for your trip. Remember to include sunscreen as well as clothes that are suitable for warm weather.

Tips & Warnings

  • Buying your tickets online means you can skip the ticket queue when you get there.
  • Some of the hotels you can book at Legoland include the price of admission to the park as well as accommodation.
  • While almost all the rides and shows at Legoland are covered by the admission fee, some activities do have an extra fee. These include things like face painting and rock climbing.
  • For around the price of two one day passes, you can get a Legoland Membership that’s good for an entire year. If you live in the area and plan on visiting several times throughout the year, the membership is a great buy.
  • Promotional offers and discounts do not apply to Print-at-Home tickets.
  • Legoland does not allow visitors to bring their own food and drink to the park.
