Tips & Warnings

  • Keep valuables, like cash, credit cards, ID and room keys close to your person if you'll be on the 16th Street Mall. Pick-pockets are on the prowl during heavy tourism holidays like the 4th. They are looking for loose purses, items sticking out of a back pocket and inebriated individuals.

  • Drink plenty of water. The high altitude and warm temperatures will often dehydrate the body more than you realize.

  • Be sure to follow all rules and regulations of the camp site. There are bears and other wildlife that will enjoy your leftovers, especially if left in your tent.
