1
Get down! Just as in real life, getting shot hurts! Cover, no matter how scant or fragile it might be, can still save your life!
-
2
Take a breather if you need to. Following the trend in first-person shooters, Call of Duty 3 operates on a system of combat readiness rather than health points. If you get shot, a red circle will appear, showing you which direction you got shot from. The more shots you soak, the brighter the red circle appears until, in very clear lettering, the game tells you to get behind cover before taking any more damage! If you fail to do this, it's lights out! If you do manage to find some cover, just wait until the screen goes back to normal. Then you're ready to pick up and get back in the war.

3
Learn to use all of your weapons. Each weapon can be useful in different situations. While the sniper rifles are a lot of fun to use out in the open, don't go thinking you can clear a trench with it.
-
4
Find cover before you reload! Reloading guns in this installment plays havoc with your screen! As one might expect, your field of vision goes all over the place as your soldier hikes up his gun, pulls the magazine out and slaps in a new one. Make sure you're not standing out in the open when you do this. Otherwise, you'll leave yourself wide open for a few seconds!
-
5
Watch out for traps! There will be several occasions when your character will be required to disarm a trap and open a door. If you simply kick the door down, the trap will explode. In all likelihood, the blast will put you down for the count.
-
6
Help your buddies! If you see a friendly soldier being pinned down by enemy fire, help him out! Your allies are critical to the success of your missions!
-
7
Try not to shoot anything on fully automatic. Your control over the weapon varies directly with how quickly you shoot it. The longer you hold down a trigger, the less accurate it will be. Some have pretty sharp curves. If you're shooting an MP-40 on full auto, you can miss an enemy standing right in front of you. Short, controlled bursts of fire are the way to go.
-
8
Get used to dying. As loathsome at it may seem, dying does help here! It is the game's way of saying, "That didn't work--try something else!"
-
9
Listen to your comrades! If they tell you to go right, go right! If they say advance, advance! If they say fall back, fall back! Following orders will save your life and advance the game! If you sit where you are, you can throw slugs all day long The situation wont be any closer to resolved.
-
10
Learn your character's names and learn to respond to them! The officers will call for several soldiers. If you're not sure if that's you, you could be wasting a lot of time trying to do something you can't!

Tips & Warnings
When your commander asks for a bazooka in the final American mission, you don't need to look for it! Someone else is getting it, just hold the line!
