Instructions

    • 1

Consider your budget to decide how much you can afford to spend on your hotel stay, airfare, ferries, attractions, meals and tips.

    • 2

Collect passports, birth certificates and an additional photo ID for each person in your travel party. Passports valid for 6 months beyond your intended return are required. Travel visas are not required for stays less than 90 days.

    • 3

Decide whether or not you'd like to be in Scandinavia for the "Midnight Sun," when there will be sunlight 24 hours a day.

    • 4

Create a list of countries, cities, festivals and events you'd like to see or participate in.

    • 5

Make a list of amenities you want the most in your accommodations.

    • 6

Search Hotels.com (see Web site below) for hotels, motels and inns that meet your criteria of price, location and amenities.

    • 7

Ask your travel agent or search your favorite online travel broker for packages including transportation and a hotel stay that fits your bill.

    • 8

Pack your suitcases and remember to bring sunscreen, bug repellent and light clothing.

    • 9

Print out your itinerary to bring along with you.

    • 10

Check the weather a couple days before departure to allow you to pack properly.

Tips & Warnings

  • Most Scandinavians speak English with a British accent.

  • If you visit during the "Midnight Sun" and have trouble sleeping, try darkening the windows or closing the blinds. If that doesn't work, ask for assistance. You won't be the first person to take issue with the sun being out all day and night.

  • "Midnight Sun" occurs in various parts of Norway at varying times of the summer.
