Kavminvodyavia has gone by many different names as it has evolved since 1961. It started out as the Mineralnye Vody Aviation Group, then in 1988 it changed to the Mineralnye Vody City Aviation Enterprise and finally in 1995 it was changed to Kavminvodyavia, which is also known as the KMV Avia.

Kavminvodyavia owned 15 airplanes as of August 2006. This fleet includes seven Tupolev Tu-154Bs, three Tupolev Tu-134As, three Tupolev Tu-154Ms and two Tupolev TU-204-100s. It is also in the process of adding more airplanes to its fleet.
