Guangzhou is a port city along the Pearl River in mainland China. Guangzhou is also known by several nicknames including "City of Five Rams," "City of Flowers" and "City of Wood Wool," the latter of which pays homage to a native tree that produces exquisite red blossoms and yields a wool fiber. If you plan to travel from Shanghai to Guangzhou by train, book your tickets in advance and enjoy the journey.
