Train travel is a wonderful option for trips between the European cities of Porto and Vigo. You can book tickets in advance, so make your plans now and you'll have less to worry while you're traveling.

    Book tickets by calling RailEurope at (888) 382-RAIL.

  2. Step 2

    Book tickets online at the RailEurope Web site (see Resources below).

  3. Step 3

    Determine if anyone in your party is eligible for a discounted fare. Senior citizens and youth receive lower rates.

Tips & Warnings
  • There are multiple routes available Vigo, Spain from Porto. Your most direct option is to travel to Lisbon, then to Madrid, then book a local Spanish train into Vigo. You may have to change trains in a border city like Irun before making your way to Madrid.
  • Consider purchasing a Eurail Pass, especially if you'll be traveling to other European destinations by train.
  • This trip will take about one full day to complete, including the various connections.
  • Be aware that traveling during the day will be more expensive.
  • Keep tickets handy to present to conductors during each trip segment. You can be fined for not having your ticket available.

on 8/6/2007 There is a direct (morning & evening) train that terminates in Vigo also a bus service. Taxi is €150 eash way.
