Saving money on invitations is one way to control wedding costs. Here's how to cut costs on invitations.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Guest list
  1. Step 1

Go online and search for "virtual invitations"--they're free and many sites will monitor the RSVPs.

  2. Step 2

Bypass Uncle Sam. If you have friends and family that you see everyday, don’t bother with stamps; hand-deliver the invitations instead.

  3. Step 3

Make your own invitations. Create them by hand or find free templates online that you can use to create cards you can print on your printer (see Resources below).

  4. Step 4

Keep an eye open for close-out sales for wedding invitations. Paper stores often have discount invitations.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you print the invitations yourself, you can afford to splurge on a top-rate stock. Visit your local fine paper store for guidance.
  • Although you may want a few extra invitations as keepsakes, don’t go overboard and order too many invitations. Keep a close count of guests.
