Things You'll Need:
- Posters, fliers and information to hand out
- A location for the booth
-
Step 1
Decide where you want to set up a fireworks safety booth and acquire permission to use the space. Options might be: Grocery stores, shopping centers and malls, day care centers, community centers, community health clinics and doctor’s offices, fairs, festivals and other local events.
-
Step 2
Determine what materials you will have at your booth and be sure to get permission to print copyrighted materials. Give yourself plenty of time to order and receive material for dissemination.
-
Step 3
Decide what you will use for a booth. There are professional booths that can be purchased for such events. You can also use a table and decorate it to look interesting so people will want to stop and see what you have on your table.
-
Step 4
Look around for events sponsored by other community organizations that will let you have a booth at their event.
-
Step 5
Make a plan for how you are going to let the public know where your safety booth is going to be set up, such as postings on community bulletin boards and local internet boards, asking merchants to put fireworks safety tips in grocery bags or print them on grocery bags, asking fireworks seller to pass out safety tips when customers purchase products and writing public service announcements.
