While some people enjoy the traditional kneeling proposal over an elegant dinner, some people crave a proposal with a little more excitement and personality. If you are one of these people but are not sure what to do, follow these steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Consider your personality as a couple. Are you fun-loving, adventurous, quite
    and homey?

  2. Step 2

Consider places in your dating lives that were important to you. Places that saw your first date or first kiss can often be creative proposal spots.

  3. Step 3

Consider a location that would totally catch your boyfriend or girlfriend off guard. Places such as the circus for a young-at-heart couple or a museum for an art-loving couple can be very creative.

  4. Step 4

Consider asking someone you trust what they would suggest. Sometimes people have views of us that we do not see. These people can often make a suggestion for the perfect creative location we would not have even thought about on our own.

  5. Step 5

Consider what is important to you as a couple. For example, if you are a couple who holds family near and dear, you may want to propose at a family function.

  6. Step 6

Consider the personality of your boyfriend or girlfriend. If he or she is not comfortable with a lot of attention, stay away from public places no matter how creative they may be.
