How to Ask Your Friends to Help You Propose

Proposing marriage to your beloved can seem an overwhelming task, because everyone wants their proposal to be special. Your friends probably know your beloved and might have some great ideas on what would be an ideal proposal for that person. Although this list of steps see a proposal from a man's point of view, all of the information applies to women as well.

1. Be attentive in the weeks and months before your planned proposal. Women will often drop hints they themselves are not even aware of. You can glean some wonderful and insightful information about her idea of a perfect proposal by listening carefully.
2. Make a decision on the best way to propose.
3. Decide what sort of help you will need in order to pull off the perfect proposal you have planned.
4. Once you know what type of help you need, consider the personality and responsibility level of each of your friends.
   
5. Match the help you need to the personality of your friends (in other words, you do not want to let the irresponsible class clown be responsible for transporting the ring to the proposal site).
6. Make a detailed list of exactly what you need done, step by step, for each person who is helping you.
   
7. Have a meeting with all of your friends together so you can go over the general idea of the proposal and where each person fits into the scheme.
   
8. You will likely have many helpful suggestions from your friends. If these ideas work well with the proposal, consider incorporating them. Otherwise, stick with your original plan.
9. Go over each person's list individually and clear any confusion.
10. A few hours before the proposal, call each person and remind him or her of the specifics of each task.
