The easternmost island in the Caribbean, Barbados is one of the most romantic places of the Lesser Antilles. If what you and your sweetheart want are sandy beaches, hot Caribbean sun, and delicious tropical cuisine, then follow the steps below to find a honeymoon venue in Barbados.

Step1
Research Barbados on the Internet or from travel magazines. If you have friends, colleagues, relatives, and neighbors who have traveled here, they can also be a good source of information about Barbados.
Step2
Search the Internet for Web sites that provide useful information about Barbados. All you have to do is type the keyword “Barbados” in any search engine and you'll definitely get hundreds of results (see Resources below).
Step3
Browse the Internet for hotel accommodations in Barbados. If you already have a hotel in mind, you can visit that hotel's official Web site and gather as much information as you can about it. When looking for a hotel, try to find out its location, rates, availability, reservations, services, and amenities.
Step4
Make sure you'll be staying in a decent hotel by reading reviews about it before you make your reservations. Check out forums and hotel reviews online. If you read more bad reviews than good about the hotel where you plan to stay, just find another one.

Step5
Learn about the various local tourist attractions in Barbados. Explore the vast network of of caves and underground lakes, or take in the scenery with a back country Jeep tour. Couples can stroll along the beach or snorkel, golf and hike. Relax at the end of the day with a luxury spa treatment (see Resources below).

Tips & Warnings

  • If you want to truly enjoy your honeymoon in Barbados, go there during the months of May and June. The weather is generally nicest during these months. Mid-July is also a great time to go because you'll get to experience the one-of-a-kind Crop-Over Festival there.
  • Natives of Barbados are called Bajans, not Barbadosians. Bajans are a nice and cordial people so always try to be respectful of their customs and traditions when visiting.
  • Don't stray too far from the resort when alone.
